| ------------------------------ | AMEN - Academy of Missouri Educational Network of Graduate Dogs, Inc.
BackgroundAMEN Graduate Dogs is a 501c3 charitable organization providing a service which raises and trains dogs for the physically challenged while providing diversion programs, support groups, re-entry, residential transitional and independent living programs. For years, Faun and Doug Collett of Warrenton, Missouri have been training service and support dogs. While training these dogs to perform a wide variety of tasks (up to 89 different tasks, depending on needs) Faun and Doug have had great success with troubled and adjudicated youth who assist with the training, feeding and care of the animals at their facility. These individuals find that they can walk away when angry, and return with praise and positive reinforcement. This prepares them to take on a responsible, much-needed service and to do a job well. They learn self-worth, the value of hard work, and enjoy the satisfaction of earning genuine praise.
