AMEN Program Details

THE PLAN

To provide an experiential education program where in life skills activities are interwoven with hands-on instruction.

The format is designed to fit each individual, stimulating them to acquire knowledge and prepare them for future vocations.

Our goal is to prepare each participant for completion of his/her GED (General Educational Development) test if needed.

This scholastic program will provide the structure and consistency necessary for effective learning, with the flexibility to allow each participant to excel in his/her own areas of interest.

DAILY ACTIVITIES

Individuals will engage in all phases of kennel care and maintenance along with quality play time, bonding and relating to each other. Effective training of a Service Dog requires developing a relationship by feeding, watering, cleaning, and grooming the dog as well as bonding through exercise and quality playtime. By doing this as a part of a daily routine the dog in training will be responsive to their leader and willing to work at their command. Scheduled routines at the same time daily give these gentle canines security and teaches them discipline for their future placement in support and service. It also brings structure and order to the trainer's life experience.

Learning animal behavior and developing leadership skills assists in the development of the life skills needed to be a successful employee and productive citizen.

This program brings life skills together with the academic skills necessary for participants to pass the GED test. This unique approach can bring life into focus for those individuals with a troubled past.
